Helping unused materials find their forever project!
“Reducing and reusing take nothing more than a rethink on the way we shop, and using our imagination with the things that we might once have considered junk.”
- Sheherazade Goldsmith
Someone should.
I guess it will be me.
About
Growing up, I was always going to garage and rummage sales, thrift and antique stores, estates, and auctions. After Covid restrictions lifted, I resumed the hobby as an excuse to leave the house and explore my local area again.
I have dabbled in all sorts of arts and crafts, but like many, I aspire to do more crafting than I accomplish. I keep a personal stash of supplies, but I try to keep it small. Several times over the past few years, I have walked out of an auction or an estate on the last day both marveling at how much crafting material remained and cursing at my inability to justify purchasing any more.
In spring 2025 while browsing Youtube, I saw a video from The Stitchery called “I Visited 16 Creative Reuse Centers Around America.” After learning about craft thrift stores and doing some research, the idea for Craft Stash Rescue solidified. That fall, our first stash opened in Indianapolis, IN.Visit Us

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you find your stock?
The majority of my items are purchased as bulk lots from downsizing or end of life estate sales and auctions, but some items
come from personal connections to crafters who wish to liquidate unused
supplies.How do you measure fabric?
Measurements are always in your favor, and you will get the amount listed on the tag or more. Widths omit plain edges on patterned fabric. Stains, damage, and cutouts are omitted from the yardage, are discounted from the base $6/yard and/or otherwise noted on the tag.
How do I know what you have available?
I’m slowly establishing a social media presence. I plan to post on Instagram after I restock a stash or bring in something new or noteworthy to a stash. Follow me @CraftStashRescue for updates.
I’m looking for something particular. Do you have it? If not, could you find it?
Is it a craft type not currently found in my supplies? Are you looking for a particular color, material content, size of a craft supply that I might have in backstock? I can’t make any promises, but if you submit a request to my Wishlist form or to my email (craftstashrescue@gmail.com), I’ll let you know what I have and will note it for my search at future sales.
Do you sell online? Do you ship?
No and no. My goal is to make supplies available to my local crafters and artists who can’t make it to estate sales or auctions
in the area or don’t want to.Do you take donations?
Not at this time and not for the foreseeablefuture for several reasons.
- Our stashes are located inside other businesses, and there is no drop off spot.
- We do not have the manpower and space needed to process donations.
- We are not a non-profit and can’t provide donation tax documents.
